A DOORS OPEN DAY HELD IN THE NEW NURSERY SCHOOL IN SILIFKE

A new nursery school within the Private Moscow International School (PMIS), where children of Akkuyu NPP under construction are studying, opened in Silifke. A Doors Open Day was held for parents of future kindergartners: parents got acquainted with preschool teachers and discussed the organization of the teaching and learning process in the new school year with the management.

The new nursery school, which used to be a municipal institution, is located in Sayağzı neighborhood, in the foothills close to fruit trees.in Silifke. The building located in the foothill area in the vicinity of orchards has been renovated; all equipment items have been replaced with new ones; a playground has been arranged; flowers and fruit trees have been planted in the school territory.

Director of the PMIS nursery school Lyubov Dukelskaya says,

“The need for opening a new nursery school in Silifke has already been a long pending issue: our preschool education center is receiving more and more applications. The region is developing; new employees for the nuclear plant under construction - specialists of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC, a company, whose support is much appreciated by us - keep arriving here. And these are not only Russian families but also Russian-Turkish ones. Currently, the groups in our nursery attached to the school are filled up, so we decided to open a new one. The new nursery school is modern, comfortable, light, and spacious; I hope that our preschoolers will attend it with pleasure”.

The building for 100 children accommodates four classrooms, a dining hall, and an administrative section. Like in many modern kindergartens in Europe, children will spend their quiet time in the same classrooms where they study: the multi-functional rooms are transformable to provide for comfortable sleep. Special soft floor mats will be placed for the children to sleep on: this is safe and comfortable.

A dining hall is arranged in the building near the classrooms: it includes a spacious hall and a food preparation area, which occupies a separate room.

Epidemiological situation in PMIS kindergartens is strictly controlled. Children are admitted to studies only after 14 days of self-quarantine; body temperature is measured before boarding a transfer vehicle and at the entrance to the nursery school throughout the day.
