February 10, 2020, Ankara, Turkey – AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC Procurement Directorate held a working meeting with Turkish suppliers at the Company's office in Ankara.

Representatives of Turkish companies that won tendering and procurement procedures and became suppliers of goods and services for Akkuyu NPP project, as well as those who submitted packages of documents to participate in tenders, but failed to go through all competitive procedures were invited to participate.

Suppliers and candidate suppliers of goods and services required for the Company's life support, from legal services to the supply of office consumables, transport services and logistics attended the meeting.

"All participants of this meeting are familiar with AKKUYU NUCLEAR procurement procedures, the requirements for documents; they all have experience of participating in tenders. The objective of our collaboration today is to find out the most challenging issues for our Turkish partners in tenders, and to try to find solutions that can help avoid these problems. The more Turkish companies will be able to offer us their goods and services, the wider the choice for us, as well as the opportunities to get the best quotations", commented Nelya Urazova, the Director of Procurement Directorate.

The survey of local suppliers will go on. AKKUYU NUCLEAR is working with suppliers to expand partnerships and get a wider range of Turkish companies involved in the Akkuyu NPP project.  Meetings in the format of discussion and analysis of joint experiences are going to be held on a regular basis.

The next meeting with Turkish suppliers will take place within the annual NPPES-2020 forum on March 4-5 in Istanbul. The agenda includes workshops on procurement practices and individual bilateral meetings of AKKUYU NUCLEAR representatives with Turkish companies of various business sectors.
