The Limited Work Permit for the third power unit was approved on July 23, 2020.

"Obtaining the construction license is the final licensing stage in the process of the start of the construction of a power unit. Together with design organizations, we have performed an enormous amount of work for preparation of the application documents and replies to the Nuclear Regulatory Authority's questions in the course of the application review. By issuing the license, NRA confirms conformance of the all legal requirements and standards governing the construction and installation work at the third unit of Akkuyu NPP. Currently, within the scope of the limited work permit obtained earlier, we are completing a concrete pad under the foundation slabs of the reactor building and the turbine building at the third unit of Akkuyu NPP. Then, reinforcement works will be carried out, following which in accordance with the newly obtained license, we will commence foundation concrete works" noted Alexey Frolov, Managing Director for GR and International Cooperation of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC.

As of today, the following key licenses and permits within the scope of implementation of the Akkuyu NPP Project have been obtained; approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report, electricity generation license, construction licenses of the first, second and third units and temporary operating permit of the Eastern Cargo Terminal.
