Employees of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC become laureates of the \"Rosatom Man of the Year 2018\" contest

Employees of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC participated for the first time in the Industry Recognition Program "Rosatom Man of the Year". Following the results of a multi-stage selection, two Company’s employees joined the nominees of the "Rosatom Man of the Year 2018" contest.

 

Nilay Enginyurt, Head of the Bookkeeping and Tax Accounting Department of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC, won a third place award in the general corporate category "Management of economy, finance and investments". Nilay has achieved substantial improvement in the tax break conditions concerning the refund to the Company of previously paid taxes.

 

In a special category "Rising Star" established by the Rosatom's CEO, Mehmed Kaynar, specialist of the turbine shop of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC, was awarded with a third place award certificate. Mehmed has proposed technical solutions for improvement of the turbine building systems at Akkuyu NPP that would reduce the implementation period and cut the project cost. Furthermore, M. Kaynar has developed two multicultural personnel orientation projects. The first one is designed for young specialists and depicts Akkuyu NPP’s features related to the turbine building and modern heat-exchange equipment systems. The second one is aimed at invited Russian specialists and describes Turkish history, traditions and culture.

 

"My goal is to develop the Turkish nuclear project", says Mehmed Kaynar. Mehmet graduated from the National Nuclear Research University of Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute in 2018, being among the first graduates of the personnel-training program for Akkuyu NPP within the framework of the Inter-Governmental Agreement signed between Turkey and Russia. Mehmet is proud of and highly values the higher specialized education he received in the Russian Federation. Among his role models of life and profession, he names Sergey Leskin, Professor of the National Nuclear Research University of Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute, Igor V. Kurchatov, a "founding father" of the nuclear industry, and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, a "founding father" of the Republic of Turkey.

 

Nilay Enginyurt is confident that "it is important to know and obey the law and also achieve the most favourable terms for the company". Her high skills and readiness to defend the industry's interests helped achieve substantial result. Nilay is a certified public accountant of the Republic of Turkey with over 14 years of professional experience, including employment with Ernst & Young, one of the largest global audit companies.  More than 3 years ago Nilay consciously chose AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC to be among the first Turkish specialists to gain a unique experience in the nuclear industry, which is new to the country.

 

The Awards Ceremony for the finalists of the 4th Annual Industry Recognition Program "Rosatom Man of the Year" took place in Moscow. Rosatom representatives handed over the awards to the industry's 300 best employees in 54 divisional, general corporate and special categories established by the State Corporation's CEO for achievements made during the preceding year.

"Rosatom's Man of the Year" is a program for recognizing the merits of the industry's best employees at the highest level of the State Corporation's management since 2013. Every year the best employees and teams, which achieved significant results for their enterprises and the industry as a whole, are awarded at the "Rosatom Man of the Year 2018" contest.  The best employees are selected by three key parameters: divisional and general corporate professions and also special nominations established by the State Corporation Rosatom's CEO Basic selection criteria are as follows: significant performance, unconventional approaches to task solution, sharing of corporate values and contestants' professional characteristics.

 

All participants of the program pass several selection stages. Winners of divisional professions are determined at the level of the management companies of divisions and industrial units, those by general corporate professions - at the State Corporation level, and special category winners - by decision of the Central Contest Committee headed by the State Corporation Rosatom's CEO.
