Works at the Akkuyu NPP Construction Site continue as usual. After the project management has decided to reorganize the construction work stakeholders, namely to terminate the contract with TİTAN 2 IC İÇTAŞ İNŞAAT ANONİM ŞİRKETİ (Т2IC), subcontracting organizations are actively engaging in the process of resigning contracts with TSM ENERJİ İNŞAAT SANAYİ LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ (TSM), new general contractor for construction of Akkuyu NPP Power Units. As of August 5, 2022, most construction-and-installation work contractors have already concluded contracts with TSM to perform their scopes of works. The contract resigning with the remaining subcontractors is expected in the offing.

Since T2IC has refused to terminate the contract by agreement between the parties and showed its financial insolvency, AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC has decided to pay T2IC employees their wages for July 2022 using its own funds. The employees whose wages are denominated in Turkish lira have had their wages indexed by 35%.

All the workers, engineers and managers previously employed with T2IC are suggested they transfer to the new employer, TSM. In case of such transfer, all the rights an employee is eligible for under the labour laws of the Republic of Turkey will be retained, namely a particular number of salaries depending on the employment period at the previous place of employment (seniority reimbursement), reimbursements for unearned days of leave and reimbursements for dismissal without prior notice will be paid.

The foregoing measures aimed at ensuring the continuity and quality of works at the construction site, meeting the construction deadlines for Akkuyu NPP, retaining construction workers' rights related to labour conditions and timely payment of wages to the employees.
