April 22, 2020, Turkey - AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC together with the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Turkey holds a children's drawing contest "Paint the dream" on the occasion of April 23 of celebration of the National Sovereignty and Children's Day.


Children aged 4 to 14 years in the following three age groups are invited to participate in the contest that shall take place from April 20 - 29, 2020: from 4 to 6 years, from 7 to 10 years and from 11 to 14 years. The drawings shall be judged under several criteria. skill to creatively express thought, level of artistic execution and matching the contest topic. It is necessary to illustrate on paper one's greatest wish, scan or make a photo of the drawing and send it to the following address for participating in the contest: marked "Paint the dream "Drawing contest”. A filled in form, which can be downloaded at site, must be enclosed to the drawing letter.


"Children's Day is an important holiday in Turkey. Celebrations, sports events, concerts and other events for children traditionally take place nationwide on this day. This year the festivities are taking place remotely and children in these tough times particularly need the support and attention of adults, - noted Alexey Frolov, Managing Director for GR and International Cooperation of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC. - We have decided to support the kids and have suggested them to listen to their internal world, dream and express their wishes in a free creative form – through their paintings. We are working, striving to become better, learning to overcome difficulties notably for the future generations, for the prosperity of countries in which they are destined to live and embody their dreams. I am sure that that the participation in the contest shall help children to unleash their creative potential”.



The contest winners who shall occupy the first to third places in each age category shall get certificates and gifts from the contest organizers: school backpacks with stationery products, AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC branded T-shirts and books. The contest results shall be announced on May 4, 2020 and posted on the website of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office


Speaking about the importance of the project, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Turkey Representative office Enver Sheikhov said: "Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Turkey devotes much attention to children. We work with various Russian and Turkish organizations, hold joint activities with them to enhance the friendly relations between our countries. Our joint contest with AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC became one of such projects. AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC also promotes partnership and friendship of the Russian and Turkish people. Let this embodiment of a dream on paper shall become an interesting adventure for the children. Today as never before it is important to be sensitive on the one part and industrious on the other part! We hope that the children shall actively take part in the contest and send a lot of interesting drawings, as much as possible of their wishes illustrated on paper".


The contest organizers hope that special attention to children from the adults in the current difficult situation shall help children to believe in their dream, and later on to turn it into reality.

About Akkuyu NPP Project


Akkuyu NPP is the first-ever nuclear power plant to be built in the Republic of Turkey. The project is being implemented on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement concluded between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on May 12, 2010. The project provides for the construction of four power units with Russian made generation 3+ VVER reactors. The capacity of each NPP power unit will amount to 1200 MW. Serial production and operation of this technology at Novovoronezh NPP-2 and Leningrad NPP-2 confirm their reliability.
