TWO KEY EVENTS COMPLETED AT THE AKKUYU NPP CONSTRUCTION SITE
28 December 2020 - Büyükeceli, Mersin, Turkey. The first tier of the inner containment shell (ICS) has been installed on Unit 2 of the Akkuyu NPP, the first nuclear power plant in Turkey. The support truss, which is one of the most important elements of the reactor shaft equipment, has been installed on Unit 1.

AKKUYU NUСLEAR JSC, a subsidiary of Rosatom State Corporation, has received a loan of up to $300 million for a period of 7 years from Sovcombank PJSC to finance the Akkuyu NPP construction project in Turkey. The loan opens a new chapter in the relationship between the parties.

RPV FOR POWER UNIT 1 DELIVERED TO AKKUYU NPP
Equipment of major importance for Power Unit 1 – the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) – has been delivered to the Akkuyu NPP site today, having covered a distance of 3,000 kilometers. The RPV is large-size equipment, which, at the NPP operation stage, accommodates nuclear fuel, and where a nuclear reaction involving liberation of a high amount of heat takes place under high pressure.

A DOORS OPEN DAY HELD IN THE NEW NURSERY SCHOOL IN SILIFKE
A new nursery school within the Private Moscow International School (PMIS), where children of Akkuyu NPP under construction are studying, opened in Silifke. A Doors Open Day was held for parents of future kindergartners: parents got acquainted with preschool teachers and discussed the organization of the teaching and learning process in the new school year with the management.

REACTOR DRY SHIELDING INSTALLED AT AKKUYU NPP POWER UNIT 1
Another milestone has been completed at the Akkuyu NPP construction site. The reactor pressure vessel dry shielding, a safety component providing reliable NPP operation in emergencies including earthquakes of intensity up to 9 points, has been installed at Unit 1. This component also provides for stable operation of the ionization chambers - the measurement channels, which are required for reactor power control.

SHIPMENT OF STEAM GENERATORS FOR AKKUYU, THE FIRST NPP IN TURKEY, HAS STARTED IN VOLGODONSK
Atommash plant in Volgodonsk (branch of AEM-Technologies JSC, a part of Atomenergomash, the machine-building division of Rosatom) has shipped the steam generators for Unit 1 of Akkuyu NPP (Turkey). Within a few days four steam generators weighing 365 tons each will be outbound. The equipment set is to overcome 3000 km on the way to the construction site of Akkuyu NPP, the first nuclear power plant in Turkey. Steam generators are nuclear safety critical equipment of the reactor primary circuit. The NPP project includes four power units with Russian generation 3+ VVER reactor plants. The capacity of each power unit is 1200 MW. Akkuyu NPP is the first project in the global nuclear industry implemented under the Build-Own-Operate model.

PRE-SCHEDULED EMERGENCY EVACUATION AND FIRE-FIGHTING TRAINING TOOK PLACE AT AKKUYU NPP SITE
July 13, 2020, Büyükeceli, Mersin Province, Turkey. - AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC conducted pre-scheduled drills to evacuate office employees at the Akkuyu NPP construction site in case of a potential fire threat. According to the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Turkey, emergency drills should be held at all enterprises in Turkey at least once a year.

SECOND TIER OF INTERNAL CONTAINMENT INSTALLED AT POWER UNIT 1 OF AKKUYU NPP

PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATIONAL CENTER AT MIPS SILIFKE BRANCH RESUMED ITS WORK AFTER QUARANTINE
17 June 2020, Mersin Province, Turkey. - In compliance with the decision of the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the opening of private pre-school institutions throughout the country, from June 3, the work of the Pre-school Educational Center attached to the branch of Moscow International Private School (MIPS) located in Silifke has resumed. Forty out of sixty kids have already returned to the MIPS classrooms. Four teachers and three teacher assistants are working with children.

53 YOUNG NRNU MEPHI GRADUATES SPENT THEIR FIRST WORKING DAY AT AKKUYU NPP SITE
June 9, 2020, Büyükeceli, Mersin Province, Turkey. - The third group of young Turkish engineers who received higher education in Russia under the nuclear energy specialists training program for Akkuyu NPP has commenced its work at the Akkuyu NPP construction site. 53 graduates of one of the best Russian universities, the National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI), arrived to Mersin Province and upon completion of temporary isolation according to a circular issued by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Turkey, started working in compliance with restrictive measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.

June 5, 2020, Büyükeceli, Mersin Province, Turkey. - Employees of the Akkuyu NPP construction site held an event to clean up the streets of Büyükeceli settlement on the occasion of World Environment Day. AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC employees together with representatives of IC İçtas İnsaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. participated in the event aimed at raising awareness for environmental problems. Almost 100 people passed along the streets of Büyükeceli to remove garbage and make the settlement cleaner.

May 29, 2020, Mersin Province, Turkey. – Silifke State Hospital and Family Medicine Center in Büyükeceli received 70 thousand Turkish liras each from the Company. Donations are aimed at developing infrastructure and improving conditions for patients. Certificates of donation totaling 140 thousand Turkish liras were handed over to the heads of medical institutions by Alexey Frolov, Managing Director for GR and International Cooperation of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC.

AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC managers met with company’s young employees. AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC managers conducted a meeting at Akkuyu NPP construction site facilities, and the company’s Ankara headquarters attended the meeting through video conference. Vice General Manager and NPP Construction Director Sergei Butskikh, Managing Director for GR and International Cooperation Aleksei Frolov, HR Director Yulia Zholobova, and Director for Sustainable Development and Communications Tatiana Klevantseva attended the meeting which included a large working group consisting of employees under the age of 36 including Turkish young specialists who recently graduated from National Nuclear Researches University (NRNU) MePhI, and Russian young employees. The meeting participants observed precaution measures against COVID-19 using masks and keeping social distance.

According to Salih Karaca, the school principal, the funds received will be used to repair the utility lines of the buildings, purchase of sports equipment, as well as to equip the canteen-cafeteria that did not exist in the school before.

INFORMATION NOTICE
On March 11, 2020, at 02:15 a.m. an accident occurred at the construction site of Akkuyu NPP that unfortunately resulted in death of an employee of a subcontractor company performing the construction works at the site. At the moment, a special commission is set up in order to reveal the circumstances of the accident and to provide all necessary assistance to the law-enforcement authorities to facilitate the investigation. We present our deep condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased and all required help and support will be rendered to the family.

54 TURKISH GRADUATES WILL START WORKING FOR AKKUYU NUCLEAR
February 13, 2020, Moscow, Russian Federation – Diplomas of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI on higher education in the field of nuclear energy have been granted to the third graduation of students from Turkey. The target program of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC has been successfully completed by 54 graduates. All of them have received job offers from the company: young professionals will join the staff of the Akkuyu NPP under construction in Mersin province.

December 5, 2019, Mersin, Republic of Turkey. – Multimedia musical shows of Anjelika Akbar, a well-known pianist and composer, were held in Mersin Province for the first time with the support of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC. About 250 spectators visited the concert in Gülnar Cultural Centre on the 3rd of December. More than 200 music enthusiasts gathered in Mersin Archaeological Museum on the 4th of December.

On November 11, 2019 the campaign called "Breath for the Future" organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey took place across the whole country within the framework of the "National Forestation Day" declared upon the initiative of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. On November 3, Istanbul hosted the 41st International Istanbul Marathon - one of the largest sports events in Turkey. The team of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC participated in the marathon: 15 employees participated in the marathon from the company implementing the project for the construction of the first Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey, five of which decided to try their hand at a full marathon (distance 42.195 kilometers).

AKKUYU NPP WORKSITE WITNESSED EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRILLS
On October 25, 2019, a planned emergency response exercise was held at the construction site of Akkuyu nuclear power plant (Büyükeceli, Mersin Province, Turkey). The training involved firefighters from AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC Fire Department, Mersin Fire Department, Turkish Emergency Prevention and Response Agency (AFAD), gendarmerie forces, Mersin Provincial Health Department, including the national medical rescue team (UMKE) and emergency rescue teams (Service 112), Forestry Department of the Mersin province, Elektrik Üretim Anonim Şirketi (EÜAŞ), Türkiye Elektrik İletim A.Ş. The second group of Turkish students has graduated from the NRNU MEPhI in Moscow. The students from Vietnam and Mongolia have also obtained their diploma. They received training under programs related to the construction and operation of nuclear power plants. Mikhail Strikhanov, Rector of the NRNU MEPhI, representatives of the Turkish embassy and other guests of honor took part in the solemn graduation ceremony.
