Rosatom and Korea Atomic Industrial Forum Inc. Strike Deal on Cooperation

Rusatom International Network RAIN (one of Rosatoms Group Companies) and Korea Atomic Energy Forum Inc. (KAIF) signed Memorandum of Understanding on April, 20. According to RAIN, “the document is aimed at creating of appropriate conditions for enlivening dialogue between two countries in field of nuclear power”. The Parties settled on such issues as information exchange on a regular basis, cooperation on enhancing public acceptance of nuclear power and technologies and promotion of manpower potential for nuclear sector. Furthermore, RAIN and KAIF “will join their efforts to provide a support to Russian and Korean sector enterprises in setting up partnership in various fields”. “Russia has historically strong ties with Korea in field of nuclear industry;  first long-term uranium procurement contract  was signed by Techsnabexport in 1988, while first memorandum with KAIF was signed in 1991”, noted President of RAIN Alexander Merten adding that “currently, Rosatom is in close cooperation with Korean companies in field of nuclear fuel cycle. There is a great potential in other areas of activity as well”.
