Its purpose is to foster propagation of the best project management practices and develop a project culture in institutions and organizations of the Russian Federation; to enhance the authority of project management specialists; to contribute to preservation and promotion of knowledges and values of the community of project managers.

The Contest consisted of two stages. A correspondence stage involved preparation and assessment of a report on project activity experience; a test of 50 questions encompassing 12 competences of the project management; an assessment of personal and managerial competences, which implied tests on personal preferences within the project management and solution of project cases. An in-person stage involved team preparation and management of projects followed by their presentation. Projects were focused on solution of relevant practical tasks for Ryazan Oblast development. Both personal skills of each participant in project management and team outcomes were assessed. Project presentations before the functional customers and jury members were really breathtaking.

Among the members of the jury were the most known representatives of the Russian professional community on project management.

321 participants from Russian, Turkey and Azerbaijan competed for the title of the best “Project Manager 2019”. The main feature of this contest that distinguished it from other events in the project management realm, was that the jury assessed not processes but a person and his/her project competences. 21 participants reached the final in three nominations: “Project Management Expert”, “Head of Project Office” and “Project Manager”.
