The booth of AKKUYU NPP JSC was presented at the International Forum ATOMEXPO 2014 for the first time

 

The booth of the Project Company AKKUYU NPP JSC which implements the construction project of the first Turkish nuclear power plant was presented within the framework of the stand of Rusatom Overseas CJSC (affiliate of Rosatom SC) for the first time at the International Forum of nuclear energy ATOMEXPO 2014 in Moscow. The display was executed in accordance with the corporate style of the company. The visitors could take a brochure telling about safety systems of the modern Russian-designed NPPs. In the center of the booth there is a screen where anyone could see a video showing the Project Company’s activities on territory of the Republic of Turkey. The video informed about activities of two Public Information Centers in Mersin Province, about the design and survey work at the construction site and interaction with the local population.

 

 

Ilker Sert, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, Zafer Alper, Chairman of the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority, Necati Yamaç, Director of the Nuclear Energy Project Implementation Department, and other representatives of the public authorities of Turkey have visited the booth of AKKUYU NPP JSC. Fuad Akhundov, Chief Executive Officer of Akkuyu NPP, personally told the Deputy Minister of Energy about the status of the construction project of the first Turkish nuclear power plant and design features of the Russian VVER-1200 reactor.

 

The representatives of various foreign companies and mass media from Bulgaria, Lithuania, India, China, Turkey, Finland, France inquired about the Akkuyu NPP Project, namely, EIA Report (Environmental Impact Assessment), training of the Turkish students in the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. The Project Company’s employees competently replied to visitors’ questions.

 

 

The representatives of the AKKUYU NPP JSC’s management, officers of the public authorities of the Republic of Turkey, managers of Russian and foreign larges organizations of the nuclear industry addressed conditions of the nuclear industry further development, the nuclear energy competitiveness and many other things.

 

Sergey Kirienko, Chief Executive Officer of Rosatom SC, in one of his speeches said: «Countries with booming economies particularly are in want of the nuclear energy». Just such countries participated in the Forum and among them: Argentina, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Finland, South Africa and others. Based on the discussion outcomes the majority of the participants of the International Forum ATOMEXPO 2014 expressed a confidence in increase of the nuclear energy share in the global balance.

More than 3,500 representatives of 600 organizations, including 283 foreign companies from 42 countries participated in the VI International Forum ATOMEXPO 2014. 245 representatives of the Russian and foreign mass media covered the event.
