The Chief Executive Officer of Akkuyu NPP took part in the opening ceremony of the International Energy Congress and Fair “EIF-2013” in Ankara

 

The International Energy Congress “EIF-2013” was opened in the capital of the Republic of Turkey – Ankara. Representatives of energy companies and officials of state energy authorities from all over the world take part in the forum. The event is one of the key annual international summits on energy and business matters in Turkey and the Middle East. The productive dialogue, openness and interest of the event participants in the search for solutions and methods to cope with acute problems in the field of energy source diversification should be stressed as distinctive characteristics of the international congress.

 

Traditionally the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Turkey Taner Yildiz greeted the congress participants as follows: “The energy policy of countries is not a prerogative of separate states any more. The increase of population in the world and the decrease of non-renewable energy resources which will be exhausted in the nearest future are problems which shall be settled globally. I hope that the International Energy Congress “EIF-2013” will give a valuable possibility to discuss the difficulties which the specialists of the energy field have to face at the top level”

 

 

The Chief Executive Officer of Akkuyu NPP JSC Alexander Superfin took part in the opening ceremony of the Congress. He said: “We thank the event organizers for invitation. The Akkuyu NPP Сompany is open for communication and cooperation. I hope that the fruitful work during the two days of the forum will give results which the citizens of the Republic of Turkey will see in the nearest future”. Superfin expressed his hope that the report on assessment of the effect on the environment will be agreed in January 2014. “Thus, we will be able to continue our work of preparation for construction on the site. After the licenses for construction as well as the authorization documents are obtained from TAEK (Turkish Atomic Energy Authority), the construction of the NPP will start”, said the Chief Executive Officer.

 

The panel discussion which will be devoted to the Akkuyu NPP project is planned for the second day of the Congress. Representatives of the Design Company and Ministry of Energy of Turkey will participate in the discussion. The participants will discuss the progress of the construction project of the first nuclear power plant in the Republic of Turkey.

 

 

Representatives of more than 60 energy companies participate in the International Energy Congress “EIF-2013”. The event will be held for two days – October 24 and 25.
