The online meeting with the suppliers concluded with a session of questions and answers.

“Seminars for potential suppliers are an integral part of our work. We are well aware of the demand to clarify the rules of procurement procedures implemented within the Akkuyu NPP Project, since we are interested in increasing competition between suppliers and attracting more and more Turkish companies to the project in order to provide cost reduction. Seminars for Turkish manufacturers have already become a good tradition: we regularly meet at sectorial conferences and forums, we hold information events both independently and in cooperation with the chambers of commerce and industry of the Republic of Turkey. This time, the host parties were the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Agency for the Development of the Chukurova Region. We are very grateful to them for the coordination support of the webinar”, said Aleksey Frolov, AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC Managing Director for GR and International Cooperation.

Such events aimed to involve local suppliers in the Akkuyu NPP Project, make a considerable contribution to the Turkish economy, and promote job growth. The parties implementing and controlling the construction of Akkuyu NPP make active efforts to enhance the degree of localization within the scope of the Project. For this purpose, an extended Localization Working Group was created. Among the members of the Group are representatives of management teams of the Project's key participants: The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC, TİTAN-2 IC İÇTAŞ İNŞAAT ANONİM ŞİRKETİ (the main contractor), and the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE). The extended Working Group is subdivided into sections, which hold meetings to accelerate the localization process.
