Turkish Minister of Energy inspected the Akkuyu NPP construction site

 

 

Ali Ryza Alaboyun, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, inspected the Akkuyu NPP construction site in Mersin province. He visited the NPP construction site accompanied by Fuad Akhundov, Chief Executive Officer of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC, and other representatives of the Company. Dmitriy Tveritinov, Director of the NPP under construction, told about the current status of the Akkuyu NPP project implementation and about the future works related to preparation for construction.

Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant.

Upon completion of the construction,  Akkuyu NPP, which projected indicator of the installed capacity will be 4800MW,  will comprise 4 power units of 1200MW capacity each. The role of the reference plant for the Akkuyu NPP project plays Novovoronezh NPP-2, which is now under construction on the basis of the AES-2006 project. Operation life of Akkuyu NPP is 60 years.
